Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Rwanda for 5 Days Rwanda Wildlife Safari & Gorilla Tour, Transfer to Akagera National Park
Upon arrival at the airport, you will meet up with your driver guide from Silverback gorilla tours Tour Agency. After a briefing about your 5 Days Rwanda Wildlife Safari, our driver guide will transfer you to the Akagera National Park located East of Rwanda in a 2.5 hours drive from Kigali City. On arrival at the park, you will be allowed to check-in at the Akagera Game Lodge or Ruzizi Tented camp for accommodation and just after your lunch, you will be taken for an exhilarating game drive experience in the park where you will be able to sight the African Elephants, giraffes, Antelopes, Zebras, Buffaloes, gazelles, Impala, Baboons, the recently introduced and Rhinos, and so many others. Dinner and overnight at your booked hotel/lodge.
Day 2: Early Morning Game Drive, Boat Ride along Lake Ihema
Enjoying the best of your wildlife safari on this second of the tour holiday. Just after your early breakfast, you will set out for an early morning game drive through the park with your packed lunch. You will explore the park with opportunities of sighting the big game safari animals that include the Elephants, Lions, and Buffaloes and so on. In the Afternoon wee hours, retire to the lodge for lunch after which you will go for a boat ride safari where you will see various water-loving mammals such as the Hippos and crocodiles. Retire in the evening at the lodge for your dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park (Ruhengeri/Musanze)
After breakfast at the lodge, you will start your journey to Ruhengeri where the Volcanoes National Park is found. This journey will take you back to Kigali City, then connect northwards heading to the park headquarters in Ruhengeri (former Musanze). Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge/Kinigi Guest House. Meal Plan: Full Board.
Day 4: Gorilla Tracking Experience in Volcanoes National Park
This will be the best day of your Wildlife Safari Holiday in Rwanda. On this day, you will wake up to a tasty breakfast and then our driver-guide will be available to transfer you to the headquarters of the Volcanoes National Park, where you will attend to a gorilla trek briefing from the ORTPN wardens giving you a chance to learn of the gorilla groups available in the park, the group you will particularly visit and the Dos and DONTs of the trekking activity. After the briefing, you will then head for gorilla tracking, an activity which usually takes between 1-6 hours until you see the gorilla family assigned to your trekking group as it largely depends on the movement of the Gorillas on the previous and that particular day. An encounter with these enchanting and yet endangered mountain giants will be a climax of your 5 Days Rwanda Wildlife Safari. After tracking, you will retire to your hotel for dinner and overnight at your hotel/lodge of stay.
Day 5: Transfer to Kigali City, end of 5 Days Rwanda Wildlife Safari & Gorilla Tour – Departure
In the morning of your last day of the trip, you will set out to track the golden monkeys within the park. Return to the lodge for lunch and after transfer back to Kigali. Drop off will be at your Hotel in Kigali or be transferred at the Airport for your flight back home.
